ARESYS is an Italian SME providing innovative satellite-based sensing solutions to the Space and Defense markets. With over 20 years of expertise, ARESYS designs and develops on-board and ground systems, with a strong vertical specialization in microwave (Radar, SAR) and optical technologies.

We are looking for a SAR Algorithms Scientist, to join the Scientific Algorithms group within the Engineering business unit. The successful candidate will work on the design, development, and validation of SAR data processing algorithms and systems, with a strong focus on scientific Earth Observation missions. This position is suitable for either a motivated graduate with a solid scientific and technical background or a young professional with initial experience in SAR, remote sensing, or related fields.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Contribute to the research, development and validation of SAR processing algorithms and chains
• Analyse and interpret SAR data for scientific and operational applications (e.g., interferometry, tomography, geophysical retrieval)
• Collaborate with internal teams, scientific partners and space agencies on R&D projects
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports and contribute to scientific publications

Required Skills

• Solid scientific and technical background in physics, mathematics, engineering or related fields
• Good programming skills in Python (preferred) or MATLAB
• Strong problem-solving attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good written and spoken English

Your background

• MSc or PhD in Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline
• Few years of experience in similar topics would be considered an advantage

As a Plus

• Experience in signal processing, remote sensing, or radar systems
• Familiarity with SAR data and participation in space-related projects
