Job Description
We are looking for an experienced SAP Technical Solution Architect to lead the technical design and execution of an SAP ECC to S/4HANA conversion. The role requires deep hands-on expertise across SAP technical components, strong architectural decision-making skills, and close collaboration with functional, basis, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Architecture & Technical Leadership
Define the end-to-end technical architecture for ECC to S/4HANA conversion (Brownfield / Landscape Transformation / Selective carve-out).
Lead technical strategy decisions related to custom code adaptation, integrations, data migration, and system landscape design.
Act as the single point of accountability for all SAP technical topics.
2. S/4HANA Conversion Activities
Drive Readiness Check 2.0, Simplification Item analysis, and CVI preparation.
Oversee SPAU/SPDD, custom code remediation using SPAU/SPDD, ATC, SPAM, SUM.
Guide Unicode and code optimization aligned with S/4HANA standards.
Support Sandbox, Development, Quality, and Production conversion cycles.
3. Custom Code & Development
Review and optimize custom developments (ABAP, OO ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP).
Ensure compliance with S/4HANA compatibility, clean core principles, and performance best practices.
Define development standards and code governance.
4. Integration & Interfaces
Assess and redesign interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, OData, SOAP, APIs, PI/PO, CPI.
Support migration from legacy interfaces to SAP Integration Suite (CPI) where applicable.
Ensure minimal business disruption during cutover.
5. Data Migration & Technical Objects
Provide technical oversight for data migration (LTMC / Migration Cockpit / SLT).
Coordinate with functional teams on data consistency and reconciliation.
Ensure archiving, data volume management, and performance optimization.
6.Basis & Infrastructure Collaboration
Work closely with SAP Basis on SUM, SPAM, kernel upgrades, HANA sizing, and system performance.
Support cloud or hyperscale environments (Azure / AWS / GCP) if applicable.
Guide transport strategy and landscape management.
7. Testing, Cutover & Go-Live
Support technical aspects of Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Mock Cutovers.
Define and execute technical cutover plans and go-live readiness checks.
Provide hyper care support post go-live.
8. Governance & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Functional Leads, Project Managers, SAP Basis, and business stakeholders.
Provide technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Support audit, security, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of SAP technical experience (ABAP + SAP Basis exposure).
Strong hands-on experience in ECC to S/4HANA Conversion projects.
Expertise in ABAP, OO ABAP, CDS, AMDP, and S/4HANA data model.
Experience with SPAU/SPDD, ATC, SUM, CVI, and Simplification Items.
Strong knowledge of SAP HANA database concepts.
