To expand our team, we are looking for a motivated, dynamic, and results-oriented Sales Specialist to strengthen our sales organization in Italy.


Position Overview


The position will be primarily focused on Northern Italy, with possible involvement in projects across the entire national territory.

This role plays a strategic part in business development and commercial growth, being responsible for the promotion and sales of high-technology products and solutions in the field of ophthalmic surgery.

The Sales Specialist will work closely with clinics, hospitals, eye banks, and key ophthalmic surgeons, managing the assigned territory autonomously, identifying new market opportunities, participating in scientific congresses and trade exhibitions, and building strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the sector.


Main Responsibilities


  • Manage and develop the customer portfolio in the assigned area (public and private hospitals, surgical centers, eye banks).
  • Promote the full portfolio of products for ophthalmic surgery (medical devices and equipment).
  • Achieve and exceed sales and growth targets within the assigned territory.
  • Provide technical and consultative support during demonstrations, clinical evaluations, and in-theatre training sessions.
  • Drive the tender/bid process , including needs qualification, quotation, and closure of product/solution/service offers, meeting sales and margin targets while maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Support field execution of sales and marketing programs through active presence in the field, working closely with agents and distributors.
  • Collaborate with the back-office, marketing, and tender management teams to maximize business opportunities.
  • Interact with hospital administrations and purchasing departments for the management of quotations, contractual conditions, and supply processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting/forecasting to the direct manager.
  • Coordinate post-sales activities in cooperation with customer service and technical departments, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational continuity.
  • Participate in trade fairs, congresses, and workshops, representing the company and enhancing product visibility in the market.
  • Manage , identify and develop relationships with key opinion leaders in the field.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and distributors, ensuring responsiveness to their operational and business needs, while guaranteeing that their collaboration is fully aligned with the company’s strategies and objectives, and that they represent the organization in accordance with corporate compliance policies and values.


Requirements:


Formation:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Pharmacy, Biology, Bioengineering, or related field; or equivalent education/training in a medical, scientific, or technical discipline.


Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in ophthalmic medical device sales and/or marketing.
  • Preferred origin from the medical device or pharmaceutical sector.


Technical skills:


  • Solid understanding of hospital dynamics and public tender procedures.
  • Strong results orientation, consultative approach, and proven ability to build trust-based relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Availability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language (minimum B2 level) and proficiency with digital tools (CRM, Office Suite).
