Who we are looking for

The Sales & Marketing Director is responsible for defining and executing the company’s sales and marketing strategy, with the goal of ensuring growth, profitability, and alignment with company values. This role coordinates and guides the activities of Account Managers, ensuring the proper match between business opportunities, technical expertise, and internal resources. The Director works closely with the Financial Director and Technical & Operations Director to monitor sales objectives, service development, and alignment between commercial activities and project delivery, ensuring economic sustainability, technical feasibility, and service quality. They manage relationships with strategic clients, identify new market opportunities, and drive the development of competitive offers, strengthening the company’s market positioning. The Director also defines the marketing strategy and aligns communication activities with commercial objectives, in coordination with the Communication Manager.

Role and responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities

  • Define sales objectives and strategies aligned with the company’s growth plan.
  • Allocate and guide Account Managers, working with the CFO, Technical, and Operations Directors to ensure the right match between market opportunities, internal capabilities, and project sustainability.
  • Lead the sales process from opportunity generation to contract closure, ensuring profitability and sustainability.
  • Directly manage strategic clients and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Analyze markets to identify new segments and business opportunities, including international ones, and define short-, medium-, and long-term development plans aligned with company growth targets.
  • Develop competitive offers, pricing models, and negotiation strategies.
  • Monitor sales results, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Keep company leadership updated on the progress and implementation of the sales strategy through reporting.
  • Coordinate and monitor Senior Account Managers across four business areas: private sector, public sector, international bids, and grants.

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Define and monitor the marketing budget, ensuring consistency with company objectives and sales and communication strategies.
  • Develop and update the product and service portfolio through market analysis, benchmarking, distribution channels, and pricing policies.
  • Manage and optimize the commercial CRM (Active Campaign), implementing improvements to enhance data quality and generate qualified leads.
  • Continuously map the customer journey to improve client acquisition processes and service effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Communication teams to ensure alignment on positioning, sales strategies, campaigns, and key messages.
  • Oversee campaigns, events, and promotional initiatives, including activities with strategic partners, networks, and external creators.
  • Monitor and evaluate marketing and communication activities through analysis and periodic reporting, recommending continuous improvement actions.

Education

Degree in Business, Marketing, Management Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Proven experience (4+ years) in B2B sales leadership roles, with responsibility for account teams and achieving sales targets.

Requirements

  • Fluent written and spoken Italian and English; international background preferred.
  • Curiosity and ability to understand the technical aspects of Etifor’s services, working with sales and delivery teams to optimize resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide sales and marketing teams toward shared goals.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with strong data analysis skills and ability to implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and internal / external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and managing sales strategies, pricing, and negotiations with strategic clients.
  • Expertise in developing and managing marketing strategies focused on generating qualified leads.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, digital tools, and key commercial KPIs.
  • Knowledge of and interest in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues or nature conservation.

Contract info

Start Date: January 2026

Work Location: Etifor's office in Padua at Piazza Alcide de Gasperi, No. 41. We have a super-flexible smartworking policy!

Duration and level: To be determined during the interviews, based on experience.

Contract Type: Full-time (CCNL Commercio).
