We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead commercial development in the Verona region for a large leading global logistics organisation. The role focuses on driving new business, strengthening customer acquisition, and shaping the future commercial direction of the area. It requires a seasoned freight‑forwarding sales leader with a strong hunter mentality and the ability to deliver hands‑on commercial impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business across key verticals: Retail, Automotive, Fashion, and Food & Beverage, and more.
  • Proactively identify, target, and acquire new clients.
  • Manage core commercial KPIs including meetings, proposals, pipeline growth, new logo acquisition, and gross profit from new business.
  • Partner with operations and senior commercial leadership to ensure seamless service and onboarding.
  • Support the evolution of the regional sales function, including future identification and development of sales talent.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and forecasting while contributing to improved commercial processes and strategy.


Role Context

  • Verona currently requires a hands‑on sales leader , with strong individual contribution expected initially.
  • As the region grows, the role will evolve into a broader sales leadership position , contributing to the build‑out of a regional commercial team.
  • The role works closely with senior commercial leadership nationally and regionally.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience (typically 20+ years) in freight‑forwarding sales leadership .
  • Strong hunter mindset with a consistent track record of winning new business.
  • Experience engaging clients within the chosen verticals.
  • Ability to influence, coach, or support sales professionals, even in hands‑on settings.
  • Strong commercial acumen, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Based in - or able to work effectively across - the Verona area .
