A leading global industrial group with a strong technological heritage in advanced materials and chemicals, headquartered in Asia and operating internationally, is exploring new business opportunities in bio-based and fotodegradabile polymers for the European market.

As part of this strategic initiative, we are seeking a highly experienced commercial professional with deep market knowledge of (Bio) PBAT to assess, structure, and potentially develop new business opportunities, starting in Italy and progressively expanding across Europe.

This role is designed for a senior commercial profile capable of combining market intelligence, strategic insight, and hands-on commercial experience. The selected individual will help evaluate the commercial feasibility of PBAT—particularly bio-based PBAT made from Bio BDO—and support go-to-market strategies where production is based in Asia and sales focused on Europe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial insight and market intelligence on PBAT and bio-based PBAT in Italy and across Europe.
  • Assess market attractiveness, pricing dynamics, and customer purchasing drivers across multiple end-use applications.
  • Clearly articulate the commercial value proposition of bio-based PBAT, particularly when produced with Bio BDO.
  • Support strategic decisions related to supply chain setup and market entry (Asia-based manufacturing for the European market).
  • Support the European Commercial Manager in business development activities and customer engagement.
  • Undertake frequent business travel within Italy and across Europe to meet customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events.
  • Contribute to early-stage sales development and long-term commercial strategy for the European market.


Di cosa hai bisogno per aver successo

  • Strongly preferred: Direct commercial or sales experience in PBAT or closely related biodegradable polymers.
  • Also acceptable: Experience within manufacturers of finished products using biodegradable resins.
  • Marginally acceptable: Trading or sales roles involving PBAT, subject to depth of responsibility and market exposure.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Fluent in English and at least one of the following languages: Italian, German, Spanish, French.
  • Senior commercial background with proven credibility in polymer or biodegradable material markets.
  • Experience introducing PBAT or compounded resins to manufacturers serving multiple applications (e.g. bags, agricultural films, disposables).
  • Solid understanding of pricing structures, customer economics, and procurement logic.
  • Strong ability to translate technical features into clear commercial value.
  • Familiarity with the European market, with an initial practical focus on Italy.
  • Strategic mindset combined with pragmatic, execution-oriented thinking.
