Your Role
LANXESS Italy is seeking a passionate and experienced RSPP & Safety Process Engineer to join our team at the Latina plant . In this pivotal role, you will ensure compliance with Italian Health & Safety regulations and LANXESS directives while leading process safety initiatives and supporting the safe implementation of new and modified operations. You’ll be a key contributor to building a strong safety culture and protecting our people and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Compliance (RSPP Duties):
- Identify workplace risks and define safety measures.
- Develop and monitor preventive and protective actions.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and safety training.
- Maintain safety procedures and support emergency planning.
- Participate in HSE consultations and reviews.
- DUVRI and Work related stress as for D.L. 78/2010,
- Connection with the company Physician (Medico Competente) for medical checks.
- Point of Contact for RLS
Process Safety Engineering:
- Lead HAZOP studies and implement safety measures.
- Ensure compliance with Seveso Directive (D.Lgs.105/2015).
- Collaborate with consultants on safety analysis for new/modified processes.
- Assess equipment and layout for risk mitigation.
- Participate in pre-start-up inspections and incident investigations.
- Manage fire prevention assessments (D.Lgs.151/2011).
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Manage MSDS and industrial hygiene monitoring.
- Provide input on Health & Safety aspects in MOC procedures.
- Act as a safety advisor to plant employees.
Seveso Directive & ISO 45001:
- Develop and maintain H&S procedures under ISO/Responsible Care systems.
- Investigate incidents and near misses with root cause analysis.
- Draft and update the Seveso Safety Report.
Auditing & Inspections:
- Conduct regular safety tours and internal audits.
- Support site audit programs and identify improvement opportunities.
Reporting & Communication:
- Report H&S performance indicators and metrics.
- Prepare reports from audits, inspections, and training.
- Issue Safety Alerts and communicate safety updates to employees.
Your Profile:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing or chemical industry.
- Certified RSPP qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Italian H&S legislation (D.Lgs.81/08, 105/2015, 151/2011).
- Experience with HAZOP and process safety methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, OHSAS, and auditing principles (ISO 14001 and REACH are a plus).
- Fluent in Italian and proficient in English.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with public administration and external inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting tools.
