Descrizione dell'offerta
The physical and digital worlds are merging. Vehicles, medical devices, industrial systems, critical infrastructure: security hasn't kept pace. AI is accelerating everything, from the capabilities of the systems we depend on to the sophistication of the threats targeting them. A software vulnerability can now have physical consequences. A physical breach can compromise entire digital ecosystems. Billions of devices operate with little to no protection, and traditional approaches can't keep up. Not at this scale, not at this speed, and not across this diversity of systems.
Exein exists to solve this. We build the security layer for a world where physical and digital threats are no longer separate problems, from kernel-level runtime protection on embedded devices to cloud-native platforms that analyze, protect, and prove compliance across entire device fleets. We're not patching the old model. We're building security from the core out.
Job overview We are looking for a Robotics Integration Engineer to help establish our robotics lab and turn software, algorithms, and capabilities developed by our research and engineering teams into working applications on real robots . This is a hands-on role spanning platform configuration, hardware and software integration, deployment, testing, and demo preparation. You will work closely with developers to make robotic systems reliable and demonstrations repeatable, helping define the lab’s tools and workflows from day one.
What you’ll do
Set up and operate the robotics lab, contributing to the selection and configuration of robots , sensors, compute platforms, networking, and test equipment.
Integrate hardware and software, connecting sensors, actuators, and application components and validating end-to-end system behavior.
Deploy new capabilities onto physical robots , integrating components, algorithms, and models developed by internal teams or third parties.
Build demonstration applications, writing scripts, integration code, and targeted software adaptations to deliver complete use cases.
Prepare robots for internal and external demos, ensuring reliable, repeatable behavior and clear startup and recovery procedures.
Test and validate on real hardware, evaluating new releases, performance, and robot behavior across different scenarios.
Debug system-level issues, analyzing logs and tracing problems across software, hardware, connectivity, and configuration in collaboration with development teams.
Keep the lab and demo platforms ready to use, documenting configurations, dependencies, deployment procedures, and test results.
What we’re looking for
Hands-on experience integrating robotic , embedded, or mechatronic systems.
Solid knowledge of Linux, shell tools, and networking.
Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2, including configuring and debugging robotic applications.
Ability to use Python for scripting and automation and to read and adapt Rust and C code.
Experience with Git, build tools, dependency management, and deployment to physical devices.
Understanding of how sensors, actuators, compute platforms, and application software interact.
A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
Ability to organize day-to-day lab activities independently and maintain clear technical documentation.
Good written and spoken technical English.
Nice to have
Experience with mobile robots , manipulators, quadrupeds, or other robotic platforms.
Familiarity with Docker, test automation, and deployment pipelines.
Experience deploying AI models or perception systems onto embedded hardware.
Knowledge of robotics simulation tools such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim.
Experience with sensor calibration and measurement equipment.
Experience preparing proofs of concept, reference platforms, or demonstrations for customers, partners, and events.
Location:
Rome, Hybrid (3 days a week)
