Angelini Technologies - FAMECCANICA is looking for a Robotics Design Engineer to join the Robotics team.

We are open to candidates with either a mechanical design background or a robotics software/automation background , provided they have experience in the development of robotic solutions, automated lines, or industrial machinery .

The selected candidate will contribute to the analysis, design, and implementation of robotic and automation solutions, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, company standards, safety regulations, timelines, and costs .


Main responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop robotic solutions, automated lines, or parts of them , identifying the most appropriate technical solutions and contributing to the design of complex projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, automation, and robotics specialists , in the definition of project architecture and feasibility studies.
  • Carry out assigned projects by preparing technical documentation, drawings and bills of materials , where applicable, or by developing and implementing automation software for industrial machinery and robotic systems.
  • Develop and/or support robotic applications, mainly based on ABB and FANUC , and contribute to the integration of related technologies, including vision systems , where applicable.
  • Support Production during assembly, commissioning, and testing , identifying any necessary technical modifications and ensuring project updates.
  • Test and validate developed solutions on machines, according to the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Provide technical training to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the dissemination of know-how through documentation and on-the-job training.
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and continuous improvement activities within the Robotics team.


Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering , or related disciplines.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • mechanical design of automated lines, robotic cells, industrial machinery, or related systems;
  • software development for automation and robotic systems.
  • Experience in the automation field ; experience in robotics is considered a strong plus.
  • Good knowledge of technical standards, safety regulations, and industrial automation principles .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language .
  • Availability to travel in Italy and abroad.


Technical skills

Mechanical / Design

  • Good knowledge of CAD software , particularly SolidWorks and/or Solid Edge
  • Experience in the design of production lines, robotic cells, or industrial machinery
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and safety procedures

Robotics / Software

  • Experience in the development of automation software for industrial machinery
  • Knowledge of robot programming, especially ABB and FANUC
  • Familiarity with vision systems integration
  • Knowledge of robotics fundamentals , including kinematics and motion planning, is a plus
  • Familiarity with ROS2 is a plus

Programming

  • Knowledge of C++ and Python
  • Familiarity with Linux Ubuntu
  • Knowledge of UML
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns is a plus
