Road Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Road/Highway Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from feasibility studies to detailed design construction support and project management across both domestic and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver road/highway or linear infrastructure engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Oversee feasibility studies schemes and detailed designs assessments and construction supervision.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients at local national and international levels.
• Support health and safety compliance and construction site supervision.
• Manage project budgets timelines and resources effectively.
• Manage technical and administrative content for bids and proposals of major infrastructure programs in Italy and abroad.

Recent or current project experiences must include

• Design of national or international road/highway and major linear infrastructure projects.
• Design of new road alignments junction improvements and urban mobility enhancements.
• Rehabilitation and adequacy assessments of existing road infrastructure.
• Civil works within broader infrastructure civil or environmental projects.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Italian and English .
• Minimum 10 years of experience in road/highway engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Italian and international design standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in road design software such as Civil 3D OpenRoads or similar.
• Experience in modelling and BIM coordination environments such as InfraWorks NavisWorks or similar.
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time within budget and to high quality standards.
• Previous exposure to clients at both national international and local levels.
• Ability to manage teams to deliver on time and budget.
• Ability to perform Cost Estimates and BoQ according to Italian standards.
• Ability to manage project Construction Supervision and Health and Safety responsibilities including compliance with domestic legislation.
