Provides a direct link between the low-income population and the various services available to assist in easing problems caused by poverty.
Responsibilities
Provide intake, assessment, facilitate enrollment and other assistance to families requesting services. Incorporate a Trauma Informed Care approach to program delivery. Advocate for the rights of families experiencing poverty and/or individuals. Provides information and referral for services. Plays key role in agency’s Centralized intake through database system. Works in coordination with other MVCAA programs, makes referrals or takes applications for direct services offered by the Agency. Conduct outreach and community education programs. Attends meetings and participates in trainings, as directed. Research rules and regulations relevant to programs and services for families and individuals in poverty. Submits written reports and records as required. Observes confidentiality according to Head Start Performance Standards and Agency Policy. Performs other duties as requested by the Program Manager.
Qualifications
AAS in Human Services or related field OR 3 or more years’ experience in related field preferred. Possess excellent customer service skills. Able to communicate with the public and low-income families and individuals as well as maintain accurate records. Basic arithmetic skills. Basic computer literacy in email, word processing, database entry, and internet navigation. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
