Resident Engineer (Electrical)

At Black & White Engineering , we’re looking for a Resident Site Engineer (Electrical) who wants to play a key role in delivering some of the most advanced data centre projects in Milan — a city at the heart of Europe’s rapidly growing tech landscape.

In this role, you won’t be sitting in the background. You’ll be right at the centre of project delivery, representing our technical expertise on site and working directly with contractors , clients and our design teams . Your focus will be ensuring that every electrical installation is delivered safely, accurately and in line with our design intent , Italian regulations , CEI standards , and the high expectations of global technology clients . You’ll bring the drawings and specifications to life, challenging and supporting on‑site teams where needed, resolving issues quickly, and keeping projects moving with confidence and clarity.

Your day-to-day work will blend hands-on site oversight with deeper technical involvement. You’ll attend coordination meetings , review designs for buildability , maintainability and compliance , document deviations, produce clear reports, carry out inspections and audits , and support the commissioning of critical electrical systems. Throughout the process, you’ll act as a trusted technical voice — someone who understands how complex power distribution , UPS systems , redundancy strategies and emergency systems come together to create a reliable, high-performing facility.

To thrive in this position, you’ll bring strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in data centre environments , along with familiarity with Italian electrical codes and CEI standards . Just as importantly, you’ll be a confident communicator who can influence decisions, build strong stakeholder relationships and navigate the fast-paced, detail-driven nature of major construction projects.
