Reservoir & Petroleum Engineer — Snam S.p.A.
As a Reservoir & Petroleum Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the company in all Reservoir and Petroleum engineering aspects while pursuing new opportunities outside Italy in the Underground Gas Storage business and new energy underground storages (CCS and Hydrogen).
You’ll be part of our Snam/Stogit International UGS team, providing technical support to offer and execution of UGS services to different internal or external clients worldwide, for the development of new energy storage projects (mainly hydrogen and CO2 underground storage) as well as for evaluating projects/assets where the underground storages component is included.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the preparation of reservoir feasibility studies to develop new international UGS projects or upgrade existing ones, coordinating external consultants and integrating internal resources as needed.
- Execute reservoir specialist studies for the evaluation and design of underground gas storages, focusing on dynamic modeling (storage capacity, withdrawal and injectivity performance, efficiency).
- Ensure technical execution and follow-up of reservoir engineering and geology activities, ensuring proper links with the Company centre of competence.
- Verify monitoring and reservoir management reports (e.g., reservoir pressure, gas saturation, production/injection, remaining reserves).
- Participate in the evaluation of Underground Gas, CO2 and hydrogen Storage for reservoir & petroleum engineering aspects for new initiatives outside Italy, coordinating external consultants and interfacing with internal resources.
- Within the multidisciplinary asset evaluation team for new international UGS initiatives, participate in due diligence, data room and technical meetings with full responsibility for reservoir & petroleum engineering aspects.
- Verify the quality, robustness and completeness of all reports and deliverables under service contracts with third-party clients.
What is required to join our team?
- Master degree in petroleum, reservoir, mechanical, chemical, civil engineering or a related field
- 7–10 years of experience in international contexts
- Proven involvement in upstream feasibility studies for the development of gas fields (preferably UGS)
- Knowledge in supervision and realization of 3D dynamic models with black oil and compositional simulators
- Experience in technical evaluation of Oil/Gas fields in both terrigenous and fractured environments
- Experience in reservoir management and production optimization techniques
- Experience in design, supervision and interpretation of well tests and in wells performance monitoring
- Knowledge of petroleum geology and geological model construction processes
- Knowledge of geodynamics and rock geomechanics
- Basic knowledge of seismic acquisition and interpretation
- Experience related to CCUS or hydrogen storage projects is a plus
- Hands-on experience with reservoir and petroleum engineering software (Petrel, G&G, Petrel Geomechanics and Techlog)
- Track record in coordinating interdisciplinary teams and managing external contractors
- Ability to act as technical consultant to clients and build strategic relationships
- Excellent communication, clear thinking, and ability to convey technical information effectively
- Good knowledge of the energy sector, with focus on gas transport/storage and/or renewable energy-related gas technologies
