For the Laboratory of Data Engineering – LADE in Padriciano (Trieste - ITA), Area Science Park is seeking to hire two Researchers (Professional Level III under the National Collective Labour Agreement for Education and Research) for a f ixed-term contract of 12 months,with the possibility of extension.
Main activities
The researchers will join a multidisciplinary team active in the fields of AI and Data Engineering , contributing to the development of AI models for the analysis of clinical data, textual reports, and diagnostic images to support the identification of rare diseases .
The activities will include:
- development and validation of Machine Learning and Deep Learning models ;
- design of pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and management of complex clinical data;
- development of AI interpretability tools and model analysis methodologies;
- management of healthcare data according to FAIR-by-design principles .
The researchers will collaborate with scientific, institutional, and technological partners in benchmarking , validation , and application-oriented transfer activities .
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must hold a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) relevant to the position or alternatively have at least three years of post-master’s professional or research experience in one or more of the fields described in the call (please refer to the official notice for the list of eligible degree classes).
Candidates are also required to have an excellent command of English (and adequate knowledge of Italian for foreign applicants), familiarity with the main software tools and IT applications for research data analysis, and availability to travel in Italy and abroad.
