Remote Junior Backend Developer - Folks Finance

Overview

Folks Finance is seeking a Junior Backend Developer to join our team. As a Junior Backend Developer, you will collaborate closely with our experienced engineers to develop, optimise and maintain the backend infrastructure of our DeFi products. You will gain hands-on experience with Web3 technologies, blockchain integrations and scalable backend systems that power our decentralized applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and blockchain engineers to ensure seamless integration with smart contracts and web applications.
• Work with databases (SQL and GraphQl) to efficiently store and manage data.
• Assist in debugging and resolving backend issues.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in DeFi, blockchain, and backend technologies.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Backend Developer or similar role (can include internships or personal projects).
• TypeScript: Familiar, ideally with experience in Node.js.
• Web3: Basic knowledge of blockchains, DeFi protocols and smart contracts.
• APIs: Experience working with either RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• DevOps: Basic understanding of modern DevOps practices and tools e.g. Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
• Version Control: Familiar with Git.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, excellent communication, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to work in an agile environment.
