How You’ll Make An Impact
As a Graduate Catastrophe Analyst , you will be immersed in all aspects of front-line modelling work for our insurance clients from early in your career, including:
- Approaching and solving complex, non-standard analytical problems to deliver tailored insights and solutions for our clients
- Data auditing & cleansing
- Learning and utilizing catastrophe modelling software
- Operation of financial modelling software and interpretation of model outputs
- Real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting client’s post-event
- Domestic or global travel, as required
- Increasing opportunities for client interaction and responsibility as your experience and capabilities evolve
- Support for industry qualifications
Educational Requirements
Degree in Maths, Physics, Hydrology, Natural Sciences, Geo-Sciences, Geography, Meteorology, Climate Science, Engineering (Civil, Hydraulic, or Environmental), or equivalent qualification.
Desired Skills And Qualifications
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and keen interest in the fields of Insurance, Risk Management, and Reinsurance.
- Strong curiosity, open-minded attitude, and a genuine desire to learn and embrace new challenges
- Solid technical aptitude with the ability to understand and apply mathematical, probabilistic, and quantitative concepts in a real-world risk context
- Passion for coding and data-driven analysis, with an interest in working with large datasets and analytical tools such as R, Python, Matlab, and SQL
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with diverse groups.
- Comprehensive geographical awareness.
- First experience with Catastrophe Modelling Software, Risk Management Solutions, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), or Data Analysis is beneficial.
- Fluent in both English and Italian.
