Regional Account Manager
Location: Lombardia
Reports to: Sales Lead Hematology and Nephrology
This is what you will do
The Regional Account Manager will promote the usage of Alexion’s products by raising disease awareness and distributing promotional materials among hospital physicians and pharmacists within their territory, respecting local regulations, company values, and procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as “Informatore Scientifico del Farmaco” in accordance with Decree n. 219 / 2006 and its amendments.
- Achieve sales and operational objectives in the assigned territory.
- Call on targeted healthcare professionals (physicians and pharmacists) to deliver product and disease-related information according to the Summary of Product Characteristics.
- Establish and maintain quality, trustful contacts within the medical community and opinion leaders. Organize group meetings in hospitals using approved promotional material.
- Feed the CRM system timely and accurately, and submit managerial reports.
- Collect and communicate pharmacovigilance information according to regulations and company procedures.
- Develop and implement an annual Tactical Plan for the territory (targeting, MD development, actions).
- Support Marketing in competitive landscape analysis.
- Assist Customer Service with order management.
Essential Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical hospital sector, preferably in biotech/orphan drugs.
- Proficient with computer/iPad and reporting tools (e.g., Concur, CRM).
- Knowledge of English language.
- Ability to travel within the territory regularly, including overnight and occasional weekend trips.
- Science or Pharma degree as required by Decree n. 219 / 2006 and its amendments.
- Knowledge of country-specific pharma regulations.
- Strong communication skills: listening, presenting, and delivering clear, compelling messages.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions, matrices, and geographies.
- Customer-focused approach: building networks and maintaining access to drive initiatives.
- Selling skills: planning and communicating brand value, listening to customers, and adapting calls for success.
- Territory planning and execution: understanding business fundamentals and integrating all components effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hematology and nephrology is appreciated.
