The Legal Manager oversees the Legal department in the relevant country and reports directly to the Acquisition & Construction Manager. This role has three direct reports: a Legal Specialist.

The Legal Manager provides legal advice and support throughout the process from Lead to Store, focusing on (negotiating) lease contracts and permits.

This role involves handling all legal work in the country, primarily related to Real Estate, and potentially other areas such as customs, fraud, claims, and insurance.

Operational Management

Develops strategic and operational plans for the Legal team.

Supports Acquisition Managers in contract negotiations, including drafting proposals and reviewing clauses.

Ensures high-quality lease contracts by verifying essential and desirable clauses according to Action standards.

Reviews standard lease contracts.

Monitors lease expiration dates to ensure timely renewal or termination.

Coordinates with internal Legal Counsel and external Lease Law specialists.

Sourcing materials and services at the lowest possible cost in collaboration with the Legal Manager International.

Ensures compliance with local regulations and aligns store operations with internal guidelines and standards.

Maintains up-to-date legal documentation and archives related to Real Estate.

People Management

Leads and directs the legal team, providing clear instructions, planning activities, and motivating team members to achieve targets.

Supports employee development through legal feedback, coaching, and training.

Fosters enthusiasm, positive attitudes, and a collaborative team environment.

Provides performance feedback and supports personal development.

Manages staffing, recruitment, and retention within the department.

Implementation of Best Practices

Implements efficient processes and adapts working methods to local circumstances.

Communicates local considerations and integrates them into standard procedures.

Reporting

Prepares regular management reports for the Acquisition & Construction Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Master's degree in Law or equivalent.

At least 5 years of legal practice, specializing in Real Estate (lease, purchase, permits, cadastre, etc.), with experience in retail store legal matters.

Preferably reviewed at least 50 retail lease contracts and permits.

Experience managing and motivating legal teams.

Languages

Fluent in Italian and English.
