As Director, you should be an ambassador for the Cumming Group, keen to promote practice awareness and to generate and nurture successful business growth. As Director, you will have responsibility for several key clients and be expected to develop excellent long-term relationships with those clients whilst ensuring the provision of a quality service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Agree a set revenue budget and total headcount for team with Senior Director.
- Support the Sector Leads in developing the long-term strategy and vision for the success and growth of the Business within the area of responsibility.
- Developing expertise across a wide range of disciplines within the area of responsibility.
- Leading service delivery with existing key clients, maintaining and strengthening client relationships and using opportunities to cross-sell.
- Delivering growth in turnover and profits with target clients. Revenue target to be agreed with Managing Director.
- Taking responsibility for profit and loss within their area of responsibility.
- Leading new bids for work including resource planning and fee proposals.
- Providing leadership to your team and where required, resolve conflicts of priorities and personalities.
- Approve and monitor training plans of staff in area of responsibility to ensure succession planning and career development takes place.
- Mentoring team members, ensuring that staff and new starters are developed to support the successful growth of the Business and development of their career.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong technical and analytical expertise.
- Solid knowledge of construction industry practices and client-facing delivery experience.
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and drive business growth.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and complex stakeholder environments.
- High integrity, sound judgement, and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Degree qualified: construction, cost management, engineering or quantity surveying.
- Membership of a recognised professional body.
- Experience of managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects.
