The Role in Summary


The Raw Materials Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of textile raw materials, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and timely availability in line with production requirements.

The role operates within a dynamic environment, supporting the company’s sourcing strategy and contributing to operational excellence across the supply chain.


Main Responsibilities


  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities for fabrics, from supplier selection to order execution.
  • Partner with production and planning teams to align purchasing plans with material requirements and production schedules.
  • Conduct market scouting and supplier benchmarking to identify new sourcing opportunities and ensure competitiveness.
  • Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance (lead times, quality, service level) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update supplier master data, contracts, and purchase orders within the ERP system
  • Collaborate with logistics and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely deliveries.
  • Contribute to cost analysis, budgeting, and reporting activities related to raw material procurement.
  • Support key project of company ERP system replacement and contribute to the definition of new operating procedures.


Key Requirements


  • Degree in Economics, Engineering, or equivalent culture/experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles within structured textile or fashion companies .
  • Solid understanding of textile raw materials, production processes, and quality standards.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Propensity for analysis and processes digitalization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (knowledge of Stealth or similar is a plus).
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages will be considered an asset.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, aptitude for managerial growth, leadership potential and able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
