Raw Material Industrialization & Quality Control Supervisor LG

The position is in Bagno a Ripoli (Florence). Within the office, the candidate will oversee all activities related to the industrialization & quality control of leather products. This role acts as a bridge between design, procurement, technical aspects, cutting and assembling, ensuring that materials meet aesthetic, performance, cost and sustainability objectives. It is a fundamental link between creative vision, supplier selection and production preparation. The candidate will coordinate a team of 3 Raw Materials Inspectors LG.
Job responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth assessments of material feasibility in the early stages of design reviews to identify potential challenges and opportunities;
- Proactively evaluate the technical limitations and production implications of proposed materials to ensure alignment with production capabilities and cost objectives;
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to define technical aspects, raw material testing activities and verify compliance with company quality parameters;
- Actively managing the CQ team by scheduling activities and supervising operational aspects;
- Use the database (Modelform) to record material data sheets shared with suppliers;
- Support the strategic sourcing team in defining comprehensive material characteristics, performance specifications and quality standards;
- Contribute to define countertype sourcing together with purchasing and product development departments, according to technical specs and industrial needs;
- Collaborate with model makers, product engineers and production teams to ensure the manufacturability of materials and their industrial suitability;
- Work closely with production stakeholders to optimize material usage, minimize waste and streamline production processes;
- Develop and implement standardized processes for material industrialization to improve efficiency and reduce lead times;
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent
- Experience (8-10 years) in the fashion industry or tanneries
- Experience in industrialization of plain and exotic leather
- Excellent knowledge of materials and production processes
- Strong attention to new trends and research
- Ability to work under pressure in a timely manner
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Fluent in Italian, good knowledge of English
- Accuracy
