The Engineering division of Randstad Professional, Leaders Search and Selection – specializing in the recruitment and selection of middle, senior, and top management – is currently seeking, on behalf of a key client in the Aerospace & Defense sector, a:
RAMS / ILS ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities:
- RAMS Leadership: Lead Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) activities across the product lifecycle; define RAM targets, allocate requirements, and plan RAM programs (prediction, apportionment, growth).
- Reliability & LCC Modeling: Perform reliability analyses (MIL-HDBK-217F, parts-count/physics-of-failure), availability and LCC modelling (MTBF/MTTR, $A_o$), and maintainability analyses (task times, maintainability demonstrations).
- Safety Engineering: Execute safety engineering per ARP4754A/ARP4761 and MIL-STD-882E : FHA, FTA/ETA, PRA, risk classification, and mitigation tracking.
- FRACAS Management: Establish and operate FRACAS for field/test defect capture, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and reliability growth (e.g., Crow-AMSAA).
- Integrated Product Support (IPS/ILS): Drive LSA/LSAR per ASD S-Series (S2000M, S3000L, S5000F); develop LSDB, spares lists, support equipment (STTE), maintenance plans, and technical publications alignment (S1000D).
- Design Optimization: Conduct FMEA/FMECA and MTA/RCM analyses; recommend design changes and supportability improvements (DfR, DfM, DfS, DfMtn).
- Obsolescence Governance: Manage lifecycle monitoring, LTB planning, Fit-Form-Function (FFF) alternates, where-used impacts, and closure reporting.
- Qualification Support: Define test and qualification support (environmental/electrical/EMC) and contribute to conformity checks and acceptance (FAT/SAT).
- KPI & Reporting: Build dashboards and KPI tracking for RAMS/ILS performance; publish periodic reports and support reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR).
- Compliance & Quality: Maintain robust configuration control in PLM/ERP; ensure compliance with ISO 9001/EN 9100, HSE, and information security/export-control policies.
Skills and Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Aerospace, Systems) or related STEM field.
- Experience: Proven track record executing RAMS and ILS/IPS for complex aerospace/defense systems (radar, avionics, C4I, or similar).
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on with RAMS toolsets (e.g., Windchill Quality Solutions, ReliaSoft), requirements/PLM/ERP (DOORS, Teamcenter, SAP), and data analysis (Excel/Power BI, SQL).
- Standards Knowledge: Deep understanding of ASD S-Series, MIL-STD-1388 (LSA/LSAR), and safety frameworks (ARP4754A/ARP4761, MIL-STD-882E).
- Technical Writing: Ability to author clear English documentation (supportability reports, FMECA/FHA/FTA, maintenance plans) and manage configuration baselines.
- Languages: Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
Plus Skills:
- Experience with obsolescence governance (CEI EN IEC 62402), REACH/RoHS compliance, and NATO codification (NUC/ACodP-1).
- Familiarity with reliability growth modelling, MSG-3, and LORA/RCM trade studies.
- Scripting for analytics/automation (SQL, Python/VBA) and visualization (Power BI).
- Exposure to S1000D technical publications and customer portal/ticketing workflows.
