Railway and Road Alignment Engineer

Purpose of the position: As Railway and Road Alignment Engineer , you will respond to the Railway and Road Alignment Leader and be part of the Sustainable Infrastructures business line . You will be part of the team dedicated to the design of the linear infrastructures as Railway, Highway and Subway.
How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

• Design of road and railway alignments, including compliance checks with applicable regulations (also international);
• Design of road pavements and railway track systems;
• Design of infrastructure systems (cost–benefit analysis, line capacity studies and node analysis);
• Principles of road hydraulics;
• Topography;
• BIM modeling of the infrastructure;
• Definition of discipline activity lists and coordination of activities in accordance with the project schedule;
• Quantity calculations;
• Review and verification of designs produced by third parties;
• Technical assistance for issues arising on construction sites.
  

Education: Master’s Degree/bachelor’s degree in: Civil Engineering with a specialization in Infrastructure and Transportation, with specific experience in infrastructure design and a broad understanding of the disciplines involved in the project;
Experience: from 3 to 5 years in linear infrastructures design/works;
Languages: Full professional proficiency, both written and spoken, in English;
Technical Skills

• Knowledge of alignment design
• Knowledge of railway track
• Knowledge of road pavement design
• Good knowledge of construction technologies for infrastructure works.
  

IT Skills

• Proven experience in the use of major software tools (Civil 3D, Roads, Civil Design, OpenRail, Navisworks, GIS products, etc.);
• Experience in BIM-based design and understanding of related issues, with proven modeling experience, is considered a distinguishing asset;
• Knowledge of programming languages (including visual programming such as Dynamo or similar) is appreciated;
