R&D Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager with a software or systems background to join the R&D department in Bologna.
The role involves leading cross-functional and international teams and managing R&D projects from concept to start of production, ensuring alignment with time, quality, scope, and cost targets in accordance with Toyota processes.
In this role, the identified candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Learn and work in an international environment , with daily contact with Toyota companies worldwide
- Support and apply Toyota R&D practices
- Work in close and continuous collaboration with Research teams
- Manage projects according to the Toyota New Product Development process
- Gain a broad overview of company departments and R&D activities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead R&D projects
- Coordinate the work of R&D teams (software, electronic, mechanic) with other corporate functions throughout the project development process.
- Plan, monitor, and report project activities and milestones
- Ensure alignment with Toyota New Product Development processes
- Support continuous improvement of project management practices
Qualifications / Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent
- 2–4 years of experience in Project Management, software R&D environments is a plus
- Experience with software development lifecycle (Agile or hybrid models)
- Project Management certifications (PMP, CSM, PRINCE2) are a plus
- Proficient in using Git and DevOps, to maintain stable, collaborative, and efficient R&D codebases is a plus
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
- Organized, proactive, and structured mindset
