Who we are looking for
The aim of this role is to develop data visualization according to stakeholders' needs. A Data Visualization Engineer plays a crucial role in transforming complex data into visually appealing and easily understandable formats. This role involves a combination of skills in data analysis, graphic design, and programming.
This is what you will do
As a Data Visualization Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data visualization solutions that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the R&D organization.
You will be responsible for
- Data Analysis : Collecting, processing, and analysing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Visualization Design : Creating visual representations of data, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Tool Development : Developing and maintaining data visualization tools and software, often using programming languages like Python, R, or through visualization platforms (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI).
- Collaboration : Working closely with data scientists and other modellers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver customized visual solutions.
- User Experience (UX) : Ensuring that visualizations are not only informative but also user‑friendly and accessible.
- Contribute to write relevant documentation for development and for quality purposes.
- Work with external partners, universities, and consortia to implement state‑of‑the‑art models.
- Communicate findings and insights to the R&D team through reports and presentations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in visualization techniques and pharmaceutical research.
- Help dissemination and updating of emerging technologies and new product/process design methods within R&D.
You will need to have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Strong ability to understand the need and to translate it into theoretical equations and code.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Team‑oriented with the ability to work in cross‑functional environments.
- Attention to detail and commitment to scientific rigor and reproducibility.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methods.
We would prefer for you to have
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
Location
The position is based in the HQ in Parma with hybrid working arrangements, including working in presence and remote working.
