Experteer Overview
In this role you contribute to ABB’s R&D efforts for the Medium Voltage Switchgear portfolio. You will apply technical know-how to solve customer problems, validate solutions with calculations and tests, and document results for reuse. You collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Technology Management, Prototype Workshop, Testing Laboratory, Product Management and Operations to deliver on targets. You help drive innovative technology and prototypes that support scalable, reliable power distribution solutions. This hybrid role offers impactful work and a clear path to technical and mixed leadership within the division.

Responsibilities
- Experience in the electromechanical industry, preferably as engineer/designer of medium voltage products
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM (Windchill preferred)
- Ability to read 2D technical drawings and electrical diagrams
- Proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken)
- Interest in designing, prototyping and testing mechanical and/or electrical components
- Enjoys analyzing issues, creating alternatives from scratch and validating via calculations and simulations
- Expertise in simulations (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical) is a plus
