SMS group is looking for a Quality Manager for our Center of Competence "Quality, Product Compliance & Standards".
The Quality Manager is responsible for analyzing, monitoring and recommending improvements and harmonization of quality processes across the organization. The Quality Manager ensures implementation and tracking of specific QM measures in line with DIN EN ISO 9001, prepares data for management review, and acts as a central interface to internal and external stakeholders.
Tasks :
- Track and ensure implementation of assigned QM measures in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
- Plan, organize, coordinate and control internal subprojects.
- Design, prepare and perform plausibility checks on quality reports.
- Initiate and moderate optimization processes related to quality management.
- Prepare management review inputs by collecting and consolidating data from the organization.
- Shape the strategic alignment of quality documentation within the company.
- Maintain the interface between SMS group and interested parties (internal and external).
Responsibilities :
- Ensure timely and complete execution of specific QM measures and follow-up actions.
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing quality indicators and deriving corrective or preventive measures.
- Coordinate and harmonize quality-related processes in collaboration with process owners and IT where applicable.
- Support effectiveness control and coordination of system and process audits as required.
- Regular task-related collaboration and alignment with other departments to reconcile differing interests and requirements.
- The role does not include formal personnel management responsibilities under the applicable remuneration agreement.
Requirements :
- Degree from a university of applied sciences or equivalent qualification in engineering or business.
- Professional experience typically between 3 and 5 years in quality management for this role level.
- Preferably experienced as a certified auditor; possession of quality-auditor certifications (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is considered an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of company processes, organizational structure, interfaces, software systems, products and relevant internal/external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with DIN EN ISO 9001 requirements and experience preparing quality reports and management-review inputs.
- Ability to plan and coordinate small projects/subprojects and to moderate process optimization activities.
- Demonstrated capability to work with a defined degree of autonomy within set objectives and to escalate issues when necessary.
- A structured approach to work and good self-management are required for this position.
