Thales invites applications for the role of BID Quality Manager within the joint venture Thales Alenia Space, a global space manufacturer. The position focuses on complex B2 and critical bids, coordinating quality assurance across multiple national teams.
Responsibilities
- Define the quality assurance strategy for the offer, incorporating inputs from project, product, supplier, and engineering quality assurance domains.
- Ensure a consistent, competitive and cost‑effective approach to quality in alignment with TAS strategic objectives.
- Establish and uphold the quality standards of bid project deliverables, ensuring full compliance with customer requirements and applicable regulations.
- Own all quality quotations for TAS projects, coordinating QLC entities throughout the BID process to ensure seamless alignment and execution.
- Actively participate in TAS Gates, serve as a key member of the DVa process, and present and defend the optimal quality approach to Domain Directors and TAS BID Directors.
- Lead the implementation of the TAS Quality Campaign (Transformation, Competitiveness & Improvement Plan) from the onset of the BID phase, driving continuous excellence and innovation.
- Manage the overall budget dedicated to quality disciplines during the BID process, ensuring alignment with project targets.
- Negotiate all quality‑related contractual obligations with the customer, safeguarding TAS’s interests and representing the quality discipline in front of the customer.
- Forge and maintain a strong partnership with the Customer’s Quality representative throughout both the bid phase and contract execution.
- Interface with suppliers during the bid phase for selection.
Qualifications & Skills
- Expertise in quality domains: EEE, Dependability, Radiation, Material & Process, Software.
- Experience with design and development of equipment/satellite systems.
- Strong knowledge of space products and trades, and industrial environment.
- Team and project management experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Ability to handle conflictual situations sensitively and constructively.
- Open‑minded, quick learner, creative, problem solver.
- Hands‑on, pragmatic, positive attitude.
- Capacity to work in an international environment.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
- Autonomous in all described activities.
