We are seeking a QCS & DCS Engineer to join our team at a customer site in the beautiful city of Lucca, Italy, as part of a multi-year agreement project. This is your chance to work with cutting‑edge Quality Control (QCS), Distributed Control (DCS), and PLC systems while making a real impact in a dynamic and innovative mill operation.

What You’ll Do
- Support and train team members in DCS, QCS, and PLC maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve automation system issues efficiently.
- Maintain and update system documentation to meet customer standards.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and provide actionable data from automation systems.
- Develop and maintain operating procedures for DCS, QCS, and PLC systems.
- Contribute to system lifecycle management and implement long‑term automation strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- Expert‑level knowledge of DNA programming, DCS, and QCS systems.
- Strong experience in PLC, DCS, and QCS automation programming.
- Formal qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Solid understanding of pulp and paper processes and technical troubleshooting.
- Fluency in English; Italian will be considered a plus.
- Proactive, safety‑conscious, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for mentoring and training others.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a complex, matrix‑style organization.
- Willingness to work 100% on‑site at the customer location in Lucca.
- Ability to participate periodically in an organized on‑call support rotation.
