Local Purchasing Lead (m/f/d)
Location: Torino, Italy About the Role
We are looking for a Local Purchasing Lead to manage all local purchasing activities related to direct production materials at our Connection Systems plant in Torino. This role is part of the EMEA Supply Chain Management (SCM) Operations Team and serves as a key interface to the SCM Category Team, Supplier Quality, and other purchasing-related functions. The position reports directly to the SCM Operations Manager CS EMEA. The successful candidate will ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective purchasing operations while supporting plant performance and regional procurement strategy. Responsibilities
Act as the APTIV purchasing representative for direct material topics toward internal stakeholders (local and EMEA) and external suppliers. Represent purchasing in local project teams, ensuring early involvement in:
New product launches Business transfers Engineering changes
Drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements aligned with local and EMEA purchasing objectives. Monitor and report material performance KPIs and prepare management reports. Lead the annual material budgeting process. Represent purchasing during internal and external audits. Maintain and ensure accuracy of ERP purchasing data. Support plant operations in resolving supplier delivery issues. Manage and follow up on blocked invoices in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Support and coordinate indirect purchasing activities in cooperation with the regional indirect team when required. Ensure full compliance with APTIV policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Country Fleet Manager – Act as the local contact point for company car‑related topics and coordinate fleet requirements with the EMEA indirect purchasing organization. Qualifications
Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a comparable field. 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, ideally within the automotive industry. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Excellent analytical and negotiation abilities. Proven project management skills; engineering background is a plus. Proficiency in QAD / MFGPro, SAP, and Microsoft Office. Structured, proactive, and independent working style. High level of commitment and assertiveness. Open‑minded, hands‑on, and eager to learn. Compensation
The starting annual base salary for this position is 41,600 EUR gross, with the opportunity for further growth based on your experience, skills, and overall qualifications.
