Reports to: Director of Finance / General Manager

Role overview

San Clemente Palace, a landmark 5‑star resort in Venice , is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager with a proven background in luxury hospitality. You will own end‑to‑end procurement, supplier relationships, and inventory control to guarantee premium quality, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted supply across all operational departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead procurement operations across the resort, including requisitions, ordering, receiving, invoice reconciliation, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Manage inventory and stock control; set par levels, monitor consumption, forecast demand, and implement measures to minimise waste and stockouts.
  • Coordinate with operational teams (F&B and kitchen, service, banqueting; Housekeeping; Front Office; Engineering) to align purchasing with menus, events, and seasonal peaks.
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies and SOPs to ensure compliance with budgetary, quality, safety, and sustainability objectives.
  • Onboard and manage suppliers; conduct performance reviews, resolve disputes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Produce regular management reports on spend, savings, supplier KPIs, and inventory status.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ procurement experience , with at least 2–3 years in luxury hotel or resort procurement.
  • Proven track record in vendor management and inventory systems .
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing procurement budgets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with purchasing/ERP systems (Navision/Business Central or similar preferred).
  • Fluent Italian; English fluency highly desirable. Additional languages are an advantage.
