Purchasing Coordinator


Reporting to the Global Sourcing Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for execution and management of purchasing strategies to ensure finished product sourcing and procurement practices are highly cost-effective and supported by best-practice tools, systems, processes, etc. This role also ensures relationships with suppliers are strong, strategic, and compliant as required.


Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for managing a team of buyers and specialists, optimizing procurement processes, and driving performance across cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability. The position involves end-to-end management of the procurement process and building strong relationships with suppliers.


  • Lead and develop a purchasing team (currently 7 members).
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable team objectives.
  • Monitor and assess team performance based on Atlas Copco’s cultural behaviors. Achieve KPIs in sustainability, total cost of ownership (TCO), delivery, quality, and financials.
  • Simplify supply chains, rationalize supplier base, and standardize components. Drive innovation and challenge the status quo. Manage global suppliers and support new projects. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms. Support IT system integration and cross-functional process alignment. Shift team focus from administrative tasks to value-added activities.
  • Analyze product specifications to define sourcing strategies. Ensure procurement aligns with forecasts, service plans, and new product development. Develop suppliers to meet evolving standards and regulations. Build a vendor network delivering defect-free components at competitive prices. Evaluate suppliers using Atlas Copco standards (financial, technical, quality, logistics, cost). Lead projects to improve profitability, quality, and time-to-market.


Qualifications

  • Strong experience in a similar role, in procurement and supplier management;
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills;
  • Previous experience in managing and developing work teams;
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities;
  • Excellent skills in reading technical drawings;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams);
  • Bonus: Experience with SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Project;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and verbal.
