job role


Within the IR & FUNDING function, the resource will act as the focal point for planning, control, and reporting activities related to the portfolio of funded projects, ensuring compliance with the guidelines set by funding calls and reference regulations, as well as project sustainability, in close collaboration with the company functions involved, particularly R&D and Finance. The resource will also manage activities related to tax credits and other incentives linked to R&D activities, operating as an internal business partner supporting FPMs, scientific leads, and Finance, and ensuring oversight of planning, control, and reporting processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Structured monitoring of the financial performance of projects, managing traceability flows and basic cost reporting in line with funding requirements
  • Proactive analysis of variances and identification of financial risks, aligning technical and financial progress in coordination with scientific leads
  • Providing support to scientific leads and the Funding Manager in planning the effort and overall costs of the project portfolio
  • Preparing, in collaboration with the technical department responsible for the project and any external consultants, the documentation required for reporting to funding authorities, supervising the entire reporting cycle
  • Ensuring compliance with eligibility rules, in coordination with the functions involved, to guarantee correct cost allocation and collecting supporting documentation
  • Providing support in managing audit and inspection processes
  • Continuous improvement of reporting processes and tools
  • Monitoring deadlines and contractual obligations, and supporting the relationship management with funding authorities
  • Initiating the process for obtaining new R&D incentives, including the R&D Tax Credit
  • Collaborating in the drafting of new proposals, with a specific focus on defining cost and effort planning

Requirements


Degree in economics, management engineering, international studies, or related fields


Experience


  • 3–5 years of experience in management control or management of funded projects, particularly R&D projects, preferably within research institutions, consulting firms, or large industrial groups
  • Previous experience in the reporting and management of public projects and funds (national and European) is a strong asset


Key Skills


  • Strong command of planning and budgeting tools
  • Knowledge of national and EU public funding instruments
  • Excellent command of Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Result-oriented mindset and familiarity with PM tools
  • Proactivity, autonomy, and problem-solving skills
