Position Overview:

The Project Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our EPC projects by developing, managing, and maintaining comprehensive project plans. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of project planning methodologies and tools, particularly within the Oil & Gas and plant engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, adhering strictly to departmental procedures and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project scope, objectives, and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, construction, and other stakeholders to gather all necessary input for schedule development and updates.
  • Identify critical path activities and potential project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize schedule delays.
  • Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, analyze variances, and prepare regular progress reports for project management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct schedule impact assessments for proposed changes and implement approved changes into the project schedule.
  • Ensure adherence to established project planning procedures and company best practices.
  • Facilitate and participate in project planning meetings, providing clear and concise schedule information.
  • Develop and manage resource loading and leveling within the project schedule.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender planning documents and project execution strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation related to planning and scheduling.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve planning processes and tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in planning EPC projects, specifically within the Oil & Gas and/or plant engineering sectors. Experience as a dedicated PLANNER is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Oracle Primavera P6 (EPPM or P6 Professional) is essential. A strong understanding of its functionalities for scheduling, resource management, and progress tracking is required.
  • Fluent proficiency in both English and Italian languages (written and spoken).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel (for data analysis and reporting), and PowerPoint (for presentations).
  • Excellent organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail and strong data management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues proactively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse teams and stakeholders.
