Overview

In the Nalco Water Division, reporting into the Engineering Team, you are in charge of water treatment equipment projects for our industrial customers. Those projects include water pretreatment, post-treatment with a specific focus on reuse/recycle projects. This encompasses the different aspects from design to start-up, including technical and commercial offers preparation as support to sales team, selection of suppliers as well as full project management. We are looking for a Project Manager (M/F) covering Italy.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer’s request to clarify needs and define solutions for water pretreatment, post-treatment and reuse/recycling. This includes treatment line definition, sizing and costing.
  • Participate in field pilot-tests where necessary at customer site.
  • Support the Sales Teams in charge of the customer accounts and act as partner and provider of reliable and added-value solutions.
  • Actively participate in the technical, commercial and contractual negotiations until the customer’s purchase order is received.
  • Manage the project execution from order processing to installation start-up and hand-over to the customer, including technical files compilation.
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders such as Sales Teams, customers, suppliers, contractors as well as internal players and act as a leader on the projects.
  • Participate in service development by fostering tools development and margins optimization.
  • Track project time and costs using dashboards that you will maintain up to date.
  • Position home-based or office-based in the headquarters or regional offices (Milano).
  • Regular field trips at customer sites as a support to the local Sales Teams are required (approx. 35% of the time).

Qualifications

  • Engineering education (in the field of water treatment, chemistry, mechanical/hydraulics, …) with at least 5 years of experience in reuse/recycle/wastewater projects.
  • Experience and understanding of the general industrial processes and those in connection with water.
  • Experienced in water reuse/recycle and wastewater treatment.
  • Experienced in water treatment installations.
  • Experienced in water pretreatment.
  • Competent in project management.
  • Good communication skills with all kinds of contacts (internal and external; from field to plant manager).
  • Customer oriented, open-minded, willing to learn and to progress.
  • Good knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering, instruments and automation.
  • AutoCAD & Visio knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Office Pack literacy compulsory.
  • Fluent Italian and English (oral and written) compulsory.
  • Valid driver’s license (for driving in Italy/Europe) compulsory.
