Job Title: Project Manager – Renewable Energy for Data Centre Infrastructure

Location: Milan or Rome, Italy (Hybrid/Flexible)

Sector: Data Centres | Renewable Energy | Infrastructure

Overview

We're hiring a Project Manager to lead the development and execution of renewable energy projects that directly support the power needs and sustainability goals of large-scale data centre infrastructure in Italy. This role sits at the intersection of clean energy and digital infrastructure, driving the integration of technologies such as solar PV, battery storage, and energy procurement strategies (e.g., PPAs) for hyperscale & colocation data centres. The Project Manager collaborates across internal teams and external partners—including developers, utilities, engineering consultants, and data centre clients—to ensure energy solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with ESG targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle of renewable energy developments supplying data centres, from site identification and permitting through to construction and energisation.
  • Coordinate technical, commercial, and regulatory activities across solar, storage, or hybrid energy projects tailored to data centre requirements.
  • Work closely with data centre clients to understand their energy needs, sustainability objectives, and infrastructure growth plans.
  • Oversee grid connection processes, liaise with Italian TSOs/DSOs, and support grid optimisation for large energy loads.
  • Support structuring and negotiation of long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) or behind-the-meter solutions for data centres.
  • Ensure all projects meet relevant compliance, environmental, and planning regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, commercial, and ESG teams across Italy and Europe.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of project management experience within renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Experience working with or supplying energy to data centres, hyperscalers, or other energy‑intensive infrastructure is strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Italian permitting processes, energy market frameworks, and grid interconnection procedures.
  • Technical understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage, or hybrid energy systems.
  • Skilled in stakeholder coordination, with strong attention to risk, cost, and timeline management.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English.
  • Based in or willing to travel regularly to Milan or Rome.

Why Apply?

Be part of one of Italy’s most dynamic energy and infrastructure growth markets. Work with leading renewable energy technologies tailored to the digital economy. Join a growing team with real impact across both sustainability and infrastructure sectors. Enjoy a competitive salary, hybrid working, and long-term development opportunities.
