About the Role:
We are looking for a Project Engineer that will join our Compressors Division . He/She will manage the technical development and execution of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contractual and technical specifications through design, calculation, technical procurement, and testing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review contractual documents and issue technical and testing specifications, manuals, and all documents required for the executive development of projects.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and documents necessary for project development.
- Issue technical purchase specifications for the various components of the assigned project.
- Interface with designers who are responsible for the development of technical drawings and 3D modeling.
- Perform mechanical and fluid-dynamic analysis and calculations to ensure proper sizing of rotating and static parts.
- Develop sizing calculations, both preliminary and detailed, using finite element programs, structural analysis (FEM), rotordynamic analysis, also in support of commercial activities.
- Provide technical assistance during tests on blowers and centrifugal compressors.
- Assist inspectors and customer-appointed entities during control and testing activities throughout the supply process.
- Manage and interface with the customer for all aspects related to the assigned project.
- Conduct business trips to clients and suppliers, in Italy and abroad, for kick-off meetings and technical discussions related to project execution.
- Support the sales department in preparing quotations, including calculation notes and cost analysis.
- Review specifications, perform site visits and inspections at customers’ facilities or plants to assess initial project conditions and define project details.
- Implement and use fluid-dynamic design and simulation systems (CFD) in cooperation with external suppliers and university research institutions.
- Prepare final test reports and R&D testing activity documentation necessary for executive design and subsequent product industrialization.
- Carry out business trips to suppliers, customers, and our foreign subsidiaries (in Italy and abroad) to coordinate R&D activities, monitor supplies alongside the Quality Control department, and provide support during assembly, commissioning, and testing, as needed for the completion of R&D activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Energy, or equivalent Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in the design and technical management of rotating machinery or industrial plants in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Knowledge of main CAD and FEM/CFD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Ansys, Fluent).
- Knowledge of technical standards (API, ASME, ISO).
- Ability to read technical drawings and P&ID.
- Good english command.
- Availability to travel (domestic and international).
