Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our Life Sciences division based in Milan, working on Pharmaceutical and Bio Tech projects across Europe and internationally. The position will be based in the Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

The Role

Working as part of a multi‑discipline team, the Project Engineer will support project development through all phases of the project life cycle from basic design to commissioning. The Engineer will coordinate the team to ensure project deliverables are met on schedule and align with client requirements. The role includes client communication to update on progress, identify challenges, and deliver management from bidding to construction completion of selected construction contractors or complex packages vendors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate disciplines activities; control and forecast work area activities and deliverables against schedule
• Work in coordination with procurement, subcontracting and estimate departments
• Prepare erection requisitions for mechanical works
• Organise, contribute and prepare notes for multidisciplinary meetings to ensure timely completion of requisitions
• Contribute to work in an enthusiastic manner, meeting quality and environmental management system requirements maintained to ISO standards

• MSC degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Energy Engineering
• Self‑motivation, flexibility, proactive outlook and good communication skills
• Passion for mentoring, training and sharing experiences with team engineers
• Ability to collaborate and work closely with a multidisciplinary team
• Highly motivated, well organised, resourceful and proactive
• Capability to work with technical strength with minimal supervision
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Availability to relocate abroad at client construction sites as engineering interface for construction contractors
