Project Engineer – FIRE & Security

Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) invites a Project Engineer to join our global team based in Cologno Monzese. HBS is a $2.5B strategic business unit inside Honeywell’s Global Building Automation (BA) Business that installs and maintains systems that keep buildings connected, safe, secure and cost‑efficient.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in the technical development of building automation projects using value engineering.
• Coordinate contributions of internal and external key stakeholders to realize the project.
• Design and document complex integrated systems.
• Develop software, perform bench testing if necessary, and deliver commissioning packages to the field; assist with start‑up delivery if required.
• Support field engineers during commissioning and on‑site activities and technical project management.
• Integrate systems into supervisory software, including third‑party systems using BACnet, Life Safety, Modbus, OPC and other protocols.
• Use change control logs to create a full audit trail of all design changes to support the Project Manager’s change order management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent computer skills and basic knowledge of networking.
• 3‑5 years of experience in building automation with on‑site experience in Fire and Security Systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical diagrams and ability to read, speak and write English at a B2 level.
• Ability to plan and schedule delivery of technical projects.
• Self‑starting, able to work with minimal supervision and willing to develop extensive product knowledge in formal training and on‑the‑job environments.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and commitment to customer satisfaction.
