TARC’s Houma Grown Department manufactures, packages, and distributes a variety of hand-crafted salsas and pepper jellies. Houma Grown is committed to providing meaningful, community-inclusive services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We believe community inclusion is essential to delivering exceptional services.
As a Project Coordinator in the Houma Grown Department, you will be a key member of TARC’s leadership team. This role focuses on coordinating daily operations while supporting and engaging individuals we serve through community-integrated employment and customer service experiences.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coworking with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Organize and maintain all materials and supplies necessary for the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of products.
- Coordinate Direct Support Workers (DSWs) and provide overall direction for staff and daily business operations.
- Train employees by planning, assigning, and directing work activities.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance; address concerns, resolve problems, and respond to complaints as needed.
- Provide supervision, training, and direct care to the adults we serve while promoting inclusion, independence, and skill development.
- Ensure a positive customer service experience for patrons and community partners.
- Delivering products to New Orleans and local supermarkets with the people we serve.
- Teaching job skills to coworkers.
- Completing required paperwork on client plans
- Multitasking business and program needs
- Being a Houma Grown liaison between the store and HG management
- Able to work varied hours to accommodate the manufacture and distribution of products.
- Must be able to inventory products, load and unload the delivery van, deliver products, and carry up to 50lbs.
