Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Lead to support a major pharmaceutical CAPEX project in Tuscany. This is a high-profile, on-site contract role, requiring full-spectrum project controls capability across planning, cost, risk, reporting, and governance within a regulated GMP environment.

You will act as the focal point for all project controls activities, interfacing with the client, EPCM partners, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure schedule, cost, and performance certainty throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all project controls functions including:
• Planning & scheduling
• Cost control & forecasting
• Change control
• Risk & opportunity management
• Progress measurement
• Reporting & dashboards
• Develop, maintain, and control integrated project schedules using Primavera P6
• Manage cost reporting, earned value, forecasting, and financial performance tracking
• Establish project controls procedures, governance frameworks, and reporting standards
• Interface with engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams
• Support client and stakeholder reporting at senior management level
• Ensure alignment with pharmaceutical / GMP project delivery requirements
• Maintain full on-site presence as part of the core project team

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Project Controls Lead / Manager on large-scale CAPEX projects
• Strong background in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industrial environments
• Demonstrable experience across all project controls disciplines
• Advanced user of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel
• Fluent / professional level Italian (spoken and written)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Able to operate in complex, multi-contractor project environments
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, live construction environments

Desirable

• Experience on GMP manufacturing facilities
• Experience working on EPCM or multi-package delivery models
• International project experience
