The Programs Coordinator will serve as part of a small team in the Florence Study Center that manages all aspects of various US university programs, including housing, academics, health & safety, cultural trips and service learning.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of US University study abroad programs in Florence including scheduling, bookings and reservations for student groups
  • Serve as local point person for US faculty and students throughout the program ensuring quality
  • Student services as part of the Front Desk team, advising students on academic, housing, cultural issues and on accessing medical and mental health resources
  • Accompany students on overnight excursions, day trips, cultural events and site visits in Florence
  • Work to develop new local academic and cultural resources for program enhancement
  • Financial record keeping and payment processing for all program expenditures
  • Student emergency support pursuant to Accent health and safety protocols, and serve on thestaff on-call rotation for student emergencies
  • Other administrative tasks as needed
  • Evening and weekend work required

Requirements

  • Legal right to work in Italy
  • Bilingual English and Italian
  • Reside in the Florence area
  • Experience studying abroad is a plus

Qualifications and Experience

  • BA or MA degree
  • Previous experience working in an office or University environment
  • Experience working in an international environment and/or with US university programs is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written in Italian and English
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks as part of a fast‑paced small team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills and US‑style customer service orientation in working with a diverse student and faculty population
  • Organized, efficient and detail‑oriented individual with capacity for multi‑tasking and decision making
  • Excellent numeracy and organizational skills
  • Local knowledge of Florence, familiarity with Italian culture and history.
  • Proficiency in technology, Microsoft Office 365, Email, and Social Media Applications
  • A minimum level of AV knowledge, including classroom setup
