The Design Engineer Tools is responsible to maintain the existing Injection Moulding tool portfolio in a way that Regal Rexnord is able to produce the best products, with a 100% uptime for our customers.

To do this, the Design Engineer understands the urgency and importance to keep the tools and processes up to date and gives direction if there is a deviation in global alignment.

The Design engineer is working very close with the COE team in NL with the development of new tooling, optimization of existing tools and controls the existing injection moulding tools to maintain the quality of the production process.

The Design engineer is also responsible for maintaining contact with our local and foreign suppliers and makes sure the deliveries of new tooling or services are in time and with the right quality.

You are working close in a team of technicians, Production department, Process Engineers and mould maintenance manufacturing high end production tooling with the highest quality and the shortest cycle time possible. In this role you are the link between centralized tools design team and the production department.

Rexnord is a lean management organisation working with the stage gate process where you need to do, plan and act to inform all team members about the development of new product projects.

TASKS:

• Optimizing, maintain the quality and controlling all existing tooling;
  
• Design new tools, draft BOM and technical documentation and follow up on the tools production.
• Define critical characteristics and process controls
• Make sure that all peripherals are in place to have a 100% reliable process for our products.
• Maintain contact with our suppliers local and foreign;
  
• Plan and followup the repairs of existing tooling and localization projects with our global selected suppliers;
  
• You are co-responsible for the scheduling and follow up of the new projects from start until the DOE/PPAP within time;
  
• The product needs to be FTR within our quality requirements;
  
• Support, adviseand participate in new projects product development with the COE dept.;
  

JOB-REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum bachelor’s degree mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in injection moulding tool design;
  
• Experience with3D CAD software (TopSolid is an advantage) and knowledge of the injection moulding process;
  
• Lean Productionknowledge preferred;
  
• Production driven attitude and quality awareness;
  
• Precise, creative and an eye for details;
  
• Good analytic thinking with communicative skills to get down to the fundamentals of the problem as a team, when a process or tool is not working properly a systematic working attitude with the execution of the projects;
  
• Italian Native and good knowledge of English (spoken and written).
