Role

• Reporting to the General Manager in Italy, the appointee will
• Ensure a lean mindset, optimised efficiency, continuous improvement
• Oversee the introduction of new manufacturing machinery and support production start-up
• Ensure that productivity schedules, quality and quantity targets are met
• Ensure that the company’s machinery and assets are properly maintained
• Manage an investment budget ensuring ROI and production profitability
• Support and guide an experienced and organised manufacturing unit towards greater efficiency
• Motivate, manage, support and develop further a first-line management team
• Cultivate positive relations with all direct and indirect reports
• Ensure continuous training and HSE compliance
• Collaborate with other company functions, eg Quality, Technical, IT, HR, Finance and Commercial as appropriate
• Report and provide consultancy to top management also at Group level with regards to production, productivity, business expansion and improvement opportunities
• Ensure continued and increased efficiency and cost-management
• Ensure an optimum working environment

Qualifications & Experience

• Preferably a university degree-holder in Mechanical Engineering
• 7-10 years relevant experience in industrial manufacturing ideally from the printing or packaging sectors
• Skilled in operations management
• Experienced in lean implementation and used to working in a culture of continuous improvement
• Experienced in people motivation and development
• Participative and collaborative management style; able to foster team spirit
• Used to collaborating in cross-functional teams
• Excellent analytical skills; skilled at budget management
• Used to management reporting and skilled at communicating to top management
• Well-organised, used to planning, prioritising and problem-solving
• Used to working in a fast-paced environment
• Digitally savvy
• Very good Italian
• Very good English for communications with Group Management and external parties
