Production Manager – Aerospace Engines – Milano, Italy (on site)

Our client is an international aerospace manufacturing company looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead the daily execution of manufacturing operations across the plant, including engines, mechanical assemblies, casting, and supporting activities.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to manage people, balance workloads, and make things happen on the shop floor — every day. You will work closely with engineering, quality, and operations leadership to ensure stable, efficient, and continuously improving production.

If you are a production leader who prefers solving real problems over managing spreadsheets, we would like to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily production activities across multiple departments.
  • Actively balance workloads and shift resources between teams based on real-time needs.
  • Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and operational risks — and address them proactively.
  • Take ownership of machine availability, maintenance planning, and preventive activities.
  • Build, develop, and structure production teams to meet current and future factory needs.
  • Lead onboarding, training, and skill development of production personnel.
  • Monitor performance, provide clear feedback, and conduct structured performance evaluations.
  • Ensure production follows released configurations, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Operations to ensure execution readiness.
  • This role is about execution, discipline, and people leadership.

Requirements:

  • MUST: 3+ years' proven experience managing production teams in an industrial or manufacturing environment, such as aviation, machining, etc.
  • MUST: Strong hands-on leadership and ability to lead from the floor.
  • MUST: Strong technical knowledge (Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred).
  • MUST: Experience balancing workloads and managing multiple production areas.
  • MUST: Solid understanding of maintenance, equipment availability, and preventive actions.
  • MUST: Fluent Italian and conversational English.
  • Ability to build trust, set expectations, and hold people accountable.
  • Practical mindset with a focus on stability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving manufacturing environment where adaptability is valued.
