The Manager of Fabrication is responsible for leading all fabrication operations within the plant. This role ensures production targets are achieved across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost efficiency.
The position provides both functional and disciplinary leadership to Group Leaders and their teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports strategic development of the department, and ensures full compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
The role also leads technological advancement through increased process digitalization, integration of robotic welding automation, enhancement of CNC machining workflows, and optimization of laser‑cutting technologies to improve precision, repeatability, and overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop Group Leaders and fabrication teams (150+ employees), including workforce planning, shift allocation, employee development, performance management, and succession readiness.
- Oversee fabrication operations including welding (manual and robotic), cutting, bending, and assembly.
- Improve operational efficiency through SMED, process stabilization, bottleneck elimination, and continuous monitoring of production performance.
- Manage budgets, KPIs, and weekly/monthly production planning to ensure optimal use of machines, materials, and resources with strong cost control.
- Coordinate escalation processes and communicate deviations or risks to plant management.
- Collaborate closely with Production Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS functions, and actively participate in cross‑functional projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, standard work).
- Accelerate digitalization across fabrication workflows to enhance traceability, process control, and operational efficiency.
- Strengthen robotic welding automation through optimized programming, parameter tuning, and improved repeatability.
- Enhance CNC machining performance by refining toolpath strategies and enabling real‑time process monitoring.
- Improve laser cutting operations with a focus on precision, throughput, and process stability.
- Promote data‑driven decision‑making and adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies to reduce variability and improve overall performance.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in fabrication operations.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
- Proficiency in English.
