Barco Healthcare is looking for a hands‑on Test Engineer to join our R&D team and support the development and industrialisation of next‑generation surgical products.
About the Role
In this role, you will work in an international, multidisciplinary R&D environment, playing a key part in ensuring product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Analyse design inputs, project specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Define and execute test plans in collaboration with NPI project managers
- Perform verification and validation testing across different development stages
- Support and execute:
- EMC testing
- Electrical safety testing
- Coordinate testing activities with external laboratories and notified bodies
- Conduct gap and conformity analysis against applicable international standards
- Support industrialisation activities, including zero‑series and pre‑series builds
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, documentation, and tools
- Collaborate effectively with local teams and Barco headquarters
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience
Required Skills
- Hands‑on experience in a laboratory or test environment
- Exposure to testing, validation, or certification activities
- Ability to work independently, organise work, and take initiative
- Strong communication skills and a structured, analytical mindset
- Fluent in Italian and English
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the medical device / healthcare industry
- Familiarity with EMC, environmental, and electrical safety testing
- Knowledge of medical device standards (e.g. IEC 60601 series)
- Background in testing laboratories, notified bodies, or other regulated industries
