Product Techinical Engineer

Our Pianezza plant is part of our Light Business Group in charge of developing and manufacturing Lighting Products and Electronics. As a Product Technical Engineer in Valeo Pianezza you will work with leading carmakers in electronics development in an international and multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Be the referent in your domain, build technical knowledge and add technical depth to the organization. Be the reference in your domain for Valeo; capitalize best practices; define standards roadmaps and continuously improve standards by anticipating technical breakthroughs.
• Lead and follow up on transversal initiatives at site level and/or group level. Support the team leader in tailoring standard processes based on project needs. Communicate across Valeo Discipline Network and meet customer expectations in your domain.
• Support/provide solutions to operational entities and control and validate technical choices made by operational entities. Assist Valeo sites during the competition phase (RFQ) in the choice of technical solutions; develop discipline requirements by gathering stakeholders’ requirements for complex projects; travel as needed to meet OEMs and customers.
• Perform technical reviews on different project activities at site and group level. Present work progress through participation in complex project meetings (internal and external). Develop a features list and organize them into work packages and delivery phases to maximize value for the customer with each phase. Support Design Leaders & Project Management in discipline development planning. Commit to the performance level of the technical solutions provided.
• Provide innovative technology solutions by analyzing system and customer requirements for new products and defining high-level design architecture.
• Coach and train in the domain: coach and certify standard technical reviewers and other trainers at site and/or group level; develop and deliver technical training considering multicultural environments.

Qualifications

• University education in engineering/technical field (Mandatory).
• 2-3 years experience in an engineering or project management role, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Fluent English and good Italian (B2 level minimum mandatory).
