Product Specialist - EDI Middleware

We are looking for a Product Specialist – EDI Middleware to manage, optimize, and evolve our EDI and integration ecosystem.

You will act as the link between business stakeholders, development teams, and external partners, ensuring that EDI workflows and middleware solutions align with business requirements while guaranteeing performance, scalability, and compliance.

This role combines technical expertise, product ownership, and business analysis, making you a central figure in enabling seamless digital communication across our global operations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Business Alignment

  • Serve as point of reference for EDI and middleware solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Evaluate new integration requests and define priorities in collaboration with product owners and architects.

EDI & Middleware Management

  • Oversee daily operations and performance of EDI and event-driven middleware.
  • Support onboarding of new trading partners and ensure data accuracy in EDI transactions.
  • Coordinate enhancements, upgrades, and configuration improvements to meet evolving requirements.

Incident Management & Support

  • Act as first point of contact for middleware/EDI-related incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to analyze recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Provide support and training to internal stakeholders on EDI standards and middleware functionalities.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines, message processing workflows, and integration scalability.
  • Contribute to system reliability through proactive monitoring, anomaly detection, and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards (GDPR, encryption protocols, etc.).

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain up-to-date technical and functional documentation of EDI workflows and middleware processes.
  • Share best practices and conduct knowledge transfer sessions with teams across different regions.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in EDI systems, middleware, or integration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards (EDIFACT, ANSI X12, XML/JSON mappings) and enterprise data exchange.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, APIs, and message queue systems.
  • Experience with integration platforms (e.g. Azure Logic Apps, Mulesoft, Talend, or similar).
  • Understanding of ETL, data ingestion, and transformation pipelines.
  • Knowledge of database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and operational data stores.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring/debugging tools (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to act as a bridge between business and technology.
