The Product Expert Current Account has end-to-end responsibility for the requirements definition, management, harmonisation, and phasing out of Current Account, focusing on distinctive customer experience, profitability and effective cost management.

The Current Account Product Expert supports the Business Banking team to set priorities, manage stakeholders, solve impediments, and help team members with day‑to‑day activities for the recently established area dedicated to Business Customers. It is also accountable for managing and delivering internal reports, optimising performance, reducing product inefficiencies, identifying and closing related gaps.

The position requires excellent communication skills, problem solving and a data‑driven approach, an orientation to detail and process, the ability to work and stay composed under tight deadlines, expertise in digital onboarding, and knowledge of usability/user experience principles and best practices.

This position also demands the ability to work collaboratively in multi‑functional teams and cross‑teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in Agile teams: actively contribute to all sprint events by asking, answering and challenging.
  • Deliver requirements, identify impacted areas and processes, and support the definition of test scenarios to achieve income and target volumes.
  • Continuously assess the performance of the ING Current Account product, the regulatory landscape, external market trends and competitor benchmark to ensure an effective customer proposition.
  • Create the requirements and business cases to support the product evolution.
  • Help the Functional team analyse and define business process flows to draft functional documents based on analysis and collected requirements.
  • Collaborate for product lifecycle management, including product performance management, product marketing and product innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree, postgraduate or equivalent background in Economics, Management, Engineering or similar.
  • 3+ years of working experience in banking or financial services.
  • Remarkable knowledge of the Banking/Current Account market, including innovation trends, benchmarks and competitor overviews. Knowledge of current account offers for Self‑Employed, Micro‑enterprise and SME (and Savings offers) is a plus.
  • Solid experience working autonomously in a dynamic, collaborative environment, identifying new potential business opportunities and improvements.
  • Experience leading product development from zero to first release and beyond.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise presentations and interact directly with top management or senior colleagues.
